After!

Say Hello to Guinness !

Guinness was found as a stray in bad condition by a good Samaritan. Guinness was very matted and very undernourished. A local vet took him in and shaved him and vaccinated him for Rabies. Then Marden’s Ark Dog Tales took this sweet 9 lb , what looks like to be a Miniature Schnauzer, and got him into a foster home. There he will get fattened up and we will make sure he gets neutered, gets the rest of his vaccines, and gets a dental ! Right now we are guessing he is about 5 years old but maybe we’ll have a better guess after he sees our vet.

Meet Lester – A Gentle Soul Looking for His New Home

After there was a death in the family who owned Lester, they realized they could no longer care for Lester. Don’t let the “senior” label fool you—Lester still has plenty of love, curiosity, and companionship to give. This handsome 50–55 lb tricolor hound mix, is estimated to be around 10-11 years old , and he’s in impressively good shape. In fact, he can still hop right into the back of a car and happily head out for his next adventure.

Lester is the definition of a well-mannered gentleman. Since arriving in his foster home, he has been easygoing, adaptable, and incredibly pleasant to have around. He has a calm, “go with the flow” personality that makes him a wonderful companion for a relaxed household. This sweet boy enjoys daily walks to stretch his legs and sniff the world, followed by long, cozy naps. He’s crate trained, housebroken, and great on a leash, which means he will transition easily into a new routine. Whether you live in a house or an apartment, Lester is perfectly content as long as he gets his walks and time with his people. Lester is friendly with new people and does well with other calm, well-mannered dogs. Because he prefers a peaceful environment, a quieter home would suit him best. He would also be happy as your one and only dog. Cats aren’t really his thing, so a cat-free home would be ideal. What truly makes Lester special is his gentle, affectionate nature. He’s the kind of dog who simply wants to be near his people, enjoying the comfort and security of a loving home.

Missy is an 8 lb, Shih Tzu/Pomeranian mix who is the sweetest girl !  Missy was born 5/8/2025 so she’s still a baby.

Missy is so loving.  She loves to snuggle with you on the couch but also loves to play with other dogs.    She is full of puppy energy!

Missy does great in a crate where she sleeps at night.  She’s a quiet girl.  She is working on house training and leash walking.   She’s a good car rider and wants to go with you !  Missy would do well in a home with another dog that would play with her or she would just love to snuggle and play with his new family.

Missy is microchipped and she will be spayed 2/12/2026.  She is also up to date on vaccines, heartworm preventative, and flea preventative.  She will be available for adoption after her spay but this sweetie will be popular so get your application in early !

Paco is an 8 lb, Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who is the sweetest boy !  Paco was born 3/27/2025 so he’s still a baby.

Paco is so loving.  He loves to snuggle with you on the couch but also loves to play with other dogs.    Paco looks so silly when he’s playing with a toy, prancing around with his long legs.  He even likes doing zoomies in the snow !

Paco does great in a crate where he sleeps at night.  He’s a quiet boy.  He is doing very well with house training.  He’s a good car rider and wants to go with you !  Paco will happily follow you all around the house.  He is still learning about leash walking.  Paco would do well in a home with another dog that would play with him or he would just love to snuggle and play with his new family.

Liah is a 10 month old Golden Doodle, sweet girl looking for her forever home!

Liah loves everyone  including other dogs to play with.  She’s still a puppy so she’s learning all kinds of new things.   She is learning  sit, drop it, come, leave it, and down.

Liah is crate trained and house trained.   She does great riding in the car and wants to go with her people.  She would do well with a family that can continue her training and give her activities to keep her stimulated and loved!  Her ideal home is one with another   doggie friend she can play with.

Liah is spayed and microchipped.  She is also up to date on vaccines, heartworm preventative, and flea preventative.

Mitch is a 55 lb., approx. 2 yr old fuzzy American Terrier mix found as a stray.

He’s a friendly playful guy who played well in the play groups at the shelter and loves to play with his foster brother.  Mitch is very smart and knows several commands.  He is currently going to obedience and agility class and is a star pupil !

Mitch does well in a crate.   He is doing very well with house training.  He’s a good car rider and wants to go with you !  Mitch does well on a leash but if he sees a squirrel or something else that gets his attention, he will pull.   He is working on this and his class should help.

Mitch is very active and would thrive in a home where he can do activities with his family.   Because of his size and energy level, he is not looking for a home with small children.  He loves all people and has done well with all the dogs he’s met.    Mitch hasn’t shown a high prey drive with cats but due to his size and energy, it would be better to have no cats.

Mitch is neutered and microchipped. He is also up to date on vaccines, heartworm preventative, and flea preventative.

Queen Elizabeth is a 13 lb., approx. 2 yr old Poodle mix that was found as a terribly matted stray.

We took her in and got her cleaned up and neat !   She’s a sweet girl and a little shy.  It doesn’t take her long to warm up though.   She likes other small dogs to play with or to be your one and only.  She also loves to snuggle with her person.  Queenie is not fond of cats so she needs to be in a cat-free home.

Queenie does well in a crate.   She is good with housetraining but needs to be on a regular schedule.  She would love to sleep in the bed with her person.  She’s a good car rider and wants to go with you !

Little Dove is a 7 lb, 10 year old toy poodle.   She is super sweet and scared.   She came from a hoarding situation where she lived with many other dogs in filthy conditions.   She had not been groomed in a while and was very matted.

Now Little Dove has been cleaned up and spayed.    She is deaf and missing half of her right ear.   A retirement home with someone who has patience while Little Dove learns about love and comes out of her shell would be the best place for her.  She is making  progress in her foster home so we think it will just take some time for her to learn a new home and get comfortable.  Little Dove wants to play with other dogs in her foster home but she’s still a little shy with people.  Since she is deaf, it would be best for a home that has had experience with a deaf dog and the patience to give her the time she needs to learn her new family and routine.

Little Dove is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. She is also on heartworm and flea preventative.

Abe is an absolutely A-mazing standard poodle, 3 years old (born 3/19/ 2021), who is ready for the forever home he deserves! His foster family describes him as calm and chill, eager to have adventures and enjoy life with his family! He was turned over to a foster because his family was unable to care for his needs, such as grooming and brushing.

The forever home he is seeking will have daily relaxed neighborhood walks, as well as ways to help him use his brain to learn tricks!

Like all poodles, he wants interactive time with his human family, the opportunity to learn basic commands and the joy of toys, while settling into becoming a wonderful, happy companion who listens to absolutely everything you have to say!

For the first time in his life, Abraham has learned what a loving family is all about and is eager to get lots of loving touches and snuggles. He would enjoy another dog that is agreeable to him requesting attention from his family members – and he is very gentle about his requests!

Being a full poodle, he will need regular grooming.   He is a dream to walk on a leash, and his groomer said he was “absolutely perfect” at his very first visit, and really enjoyed the whole experience. He has lived with other poodles at the breeder’s home, and two smaller dogs in his second home. He is friendly and chill when meeting other dogs and people; he has not yet been cat tested. He is crate trained, neutered, microchipped, on HW/Flea/Tick preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.

Because he has been moved from his original home with the breeder and again from his second family to his foster home, he will need a little patience to build confidence in new circumstances. A very consistent routine, with lots of positive training and reinforcement, yummy treats and love and kisses will be ideal to help Abraham settle into his forever home!

Abraham is AKC Registered and his registration can be transferred to his forever family if desired.

Awesome Woofy (also known as Woofy) is a 2-year-old, 35 pound male who is a mini-Australian Shepherd mix seeking a forever home. Woofy’s birthday is July 4^th, 2022 and he is up to date on vaccines and heartworm and flea preventative. He is also neutered.

The owners’ lives have changed recently, and they feel Woofy will be able to thrive in a safer and quieter home. His current home life includes other dogs, cats and chickens, and he just wants to play with them, like a puppy. He has been with older children occasionally with good behavior, walking with them on a leash.

Woofy is a little shy at first when meeting new people since he hasn’t had a lot of world experience beyond his home at a mini-farm and will warm up with as he spends more time with his potential new family.

Based on the successful adoption of three of his siblings, Woofy will be a very loyal and loving companion when given just a little time to adjust.  He will do very well with someone who can be patient while this smart boy figures it all out and bonds with his new family (recommend children over 10 who understand how to live with dogs).

His favorite things to do at his home are running and playing with toys, getting treats, splashing in water, sitting and “talking” with you, and taking short rides in the car to get treats and of course he loves meal times!

Woofy is very intelligent, alert and easily trained using yummy treats. He already knows several commands…”come”, ” back”, ‘sit”, “wait”, “no”, “yes/good boy”, “kennel up’ and ‘go get it”…and presently working on “easy” and “stay close”.

Like any young adult dog, Woofy and his adopting family can quickly bond by doing regular daily exercise and training activities – he is a very quick learner!  During walks, he can continue to learn new commands and get to know a whole new world out there!  For inside activities to stimulate him mentally, hard rubber chew toys, soft toys, puzzle toys, KONGS with goodies inside, LickiMats, are all great toys for his level of intelligence.

Leash-trained and crate-trained already which will really benefit Woofy so he can quickly learn where to potty outside – a fenced area is not required but would be ideal to let him enjoy the freedom!

Woofy is in the Asheville, NC area and transportation to surrounding areas can be arranged for the perfect home for Woofy if needed.
