“Hi! I’m Eddie. You haven’t lived until you’ve been kissed by my extra wide smile!

I promise I’ll be a fabulous family dog. I ride perfectly in the car, walk well on a leash, and I get along with all the animals I have been around so far (dogs and cats). I tolerate plenty of attention from my foster mom’s human baby, too- I even walk nicely beside the big stroller when we go outside for walks. Speaking of walks- I love them. ”

Eddie is a 4 year old neutered male shih tzu mix. After the initial wariness wears off, he’s a cuddle bug and will be a wonderful companion. He has a cleft lip and alveolus (gum), but his hard and soft palate are not affected. He is able to eat and drink fine with no aspiration. We have been feeding him soft food as it’s his preference, but there is no reason he can’t physically eat dry food. He has a completely normal quality of life and should be treated like any other little lovely dog.

Eddie would do fine in a family with or without other dogs. We are working on his house training and it has improved greatly since he was neutered. He also does well in a crate.

Eddie is up to date on all vaccines, and heartworm and flea preventative. He is microchipped and neutered.

Adoption Fee: $300

Sundae

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Sundae is a 10 year old brown and white hound/shepherd? mix. She weighs about 38 lbs. and needs to gain a little weight. She knows SIT, LOOK, COME,  and will give you her paw for a treat.  She wants to please her family and learns the routine quickly.  Car rides are a definite one of her Likes! She gets along with other dogs and all people. We tested her with 1 cat and she wasn’t too interested. She is a very sweet and loving girl. She loves to chase a tennis ball and will bring it back some of the time. Since she is a senior girl, she doesn’t need a lot of chasing the ball but a few throws make her very happy.  You can hear that “hound” voice when she’s excited to see you. All 4 of her feet are white so she looks like she’s wearing boots!

Sundae loves her people and wants to spend time with them and go where ever they go !   She is crate trained and house trained.   She’s very well behaved in the house and quiet.  She would like a dog bed in each room of the house that you spend time in so that she can relax and nap with you close by.

Sundae’s bloodwork shows she has early kidney disease. The vet is recommending at this time that she be on a prescription food for Kidney Health.  Hopefully, with this diet change, she can continue to live a long, happy life.

She would be happy in a home with other dogs or being the only dog. Sundae is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm preventative, and flea preventative. She is spayed and microchipped.

Sundae’s adoption fee is $200.

If you are interested in adopting Sundae, please visit our website and fill out an Adoption Application.

Bojangles

Bojangles is a 10 years  young Cairn Terrier/(mix?).   He’s a very sweet fella who loves all people and gets along just fine with other dogs.  He was adopted from a county shelter and returned due to “medical issues”.   The day after Bojangles came to us, he had a severely ruptured abscess from a bad tooth.   We were able to get his teeth cleaned.  He lost 18 teeth total !  But he’s finished his antibiotics and is well on his way to healing.

He loves to sit with you where ever you are and is playful and happy.  He even played some with his 1 year old foster brother.  Bojangles is a calm fella and likes to snuggle but he also likes to be outside.   He is doing very well with house training.  Bojangles has chronic dry eye and requires ointment applied to his eyes twice per day.

Bojangles is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm & flea preventative, and microchipped.

Bojangles’ adoption fee is $200.

If you are interested in adopting Bojangles, please visit our website and fill out an Adoption Application.

His dental was quite extensive and expensive.  If you would like to contribute any amount to help pay for his dental, please go to our Donate page.

Winslow

Winslow is a 1 year old, male, 10 lb. poodle.   He was abandoned in a rental residence and found when the landlord went to show it to a renter.   Winslow was terribly matted and very skinny.   He’s gained over 2 lbs since he was found.   Winslow is crate trained and does very well at house training.  He gets along with other dogs and plays with his foster sister continuously!  He is smart and likes to chase balls and sometimes brings them back.  He is starting to learn some commands but Clicker Training is not for him.   Winslow shrinks back at the sound of the Clicker.   He wants attention and loves to sit next to you on the couch when he’s not playing.

Winslow is looking for a family that has time to give him attention and love.  He would really love a friendly, playful dog sibling to help him use some of his energy.

Winslow is up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.

Adoption Fee:  $400

Penny

COMING SOON !!

This little cutie, Penny, has already grown quite a bit since this photo! She was born about January 21, 2022 and is thought to be a lab/beagle? mix.

She’s a young girl and still learning but loves to play. She’s smart and already does very well in a crate and knows SIT. Penny is currently about 12 lbs and growing everyday. The vet says she will likely be 40-60 lbs. when full grown.

Penny will be finishing up her vaccines and getting her spay surgery the middle of May. Once she is all recovered from that, Penny will be ready for her forever home !!

If you are interested in adopting her, please visit the website and fill out an Adoption Application!

CiCi

CiCi came to us from a county shelter when her owner was no longer able to care for her.  She was horribly matted and scared.   CiCi is a 10 year old, Maltese-Yorkie mix.   She weighs 9 lbs. and is a sweet little girl.  She had to be shaved down to get all that nasty, matted mess off her !  Luckily  her foster sister had a spare pair of jammies that CiCi can wear to keep her warm until her hair grows back out!

Cici visited the dogtor for a cough and for pre-op bloodwork before getting her spay surgery.  The vet discovered that CiCi has some mammary tumors.  X-rays were done to see if the tumors had spread and to make sure her lungs were okay.  The tumors had not spread and Cici’s lungs looked fine.   However, we are going to postpone her spay a week to make sure she recovers fully from her cold.

Surgery for spay and mammary tumor removal as well as the x-rays are expensive.  If you would like to help with the cost so this sweet, petite girl can get on her way to finding her perfect forever home, please go to our Donate page and any amount will help !

This little girl deserves the best !

Thank you !

Tippy

Tippy is a very sweet 10 year old Chihuahua.   This tiny 4 lb. girl found herself looking for a new home when her elder “mama” passed away the husband was not able to care for her.  Tippy has no teeth but eats soft food with no problem.   She loves people and loves to snuggle.  She does fine with other dogs and gives them an appropriate warning if they invade her space.   But she really deserves to get all the attention in the home!

Tippy enjoys riding in the car and being with her people.  She is slightly bowlegged due to luxating patellas and will sometimes hold one of her back legs up but does not seem to be in any pain.  She is a quiet girl and sleeps in her crate at night.   She does well with house training but as any dog would need to adapt to a new environment and routine.

Tippy is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.

Adoption Fee:   $250

If you are interested in adopting Tippy, please fill out an Adoption Application.

Brody

Brody is about 8 years old and a Bichon mix, maybe with Jack Russell Terrier or Beagle? He was found as a stray and VERY matted. He had to be shaved down and he feels SO much better now! He’s good with other dogs and loves people! He does excellent with house training. He’s not too fond of the crate but is quiet in it during the night until he thinks it’s time to get up in the morning.

He likes to be around his person but doesn’t have to be in your lap, just in the same room. We’re still working on leash manners and basic commands.

His hair is short now but seems to be growing well since his shave down. He will need to be groomed to keep him from getting to be the matted mess he was.

Brody had severe dental disease and had a dental cleaning and lost many teeth. He still has about 5 or 6 and has no trouble eating kibble food, although he loves canned food and if he needs meds, he takes those much better in a small ball of canned food rather than a pill pocket.

Brody is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Adoption Fee: $350

If interested in adopting Brody, please fill out an adoption application.

Burton

Burton is about 2 years old, 25 lbs. and maybe a dachshund, beagle, terrier mix. He’s an active fellow liking to chase and sometimes bring back a tennis ball. He was found as a stray after being hit by a car. His hind leg was broken and after a few months of splints and healing, he’s as active as ever! As active as Burton can be, he still likes to be close and curl up next to you on the couch.

Burton is crate trained and does very well in the crate and in the car. He’s working on house training and has improved greatly since being neutered. Burton is a smart guy and adapts and learns quickly. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people or dogs but seems to warm up in no time. He’s a little selective with dogs that are quite a bit bigger than him but with the right introduction he does fine. He just wants to play! We are working on getting him lots of exposure to dogs of all sizes so that with his quick adaptability, he will become fast friends with all.

He prefers to be called “Bubba” and responds well to that name and wags his tail. Since he’s a young energetic dog, he would do well to go through basic training and that is also a great bonding exercise with his new family. He loves toys especially ones he can chew. He has a good nose and may do well with some Nose work classes or even Agility. Burton would prefer to have access to a fenced yard so he can run out some of his energy and get to smell all the smells outside.
Burton is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.

If you are interested in adopting him, please go to the website and fill out an adoption application.

Missy

Adoption Fee:   $300

Missy is a 9 year old Yorkshire Terrier. Her previous owners bought Missy as a puppy and as an older couple, she was the center of their world and treated like a princess. After being in a loving home for so long, the husband passed away suddenly and the wife had to go into a nursing home. Missy came to us to find her a new forever home.

Missy is up to date on vaccines and spayed. During her vet care we discovered that Missy has a heart murmur and takes Vetmedin twice a day. You would never know that she had a heart murmur though as she is “lion-hearted” and chases birds, squirrels and deer ! She just had a dental and lost 7 teeth but did well under anesthesia despite the heart murmur.

Missy loves all people she meets !! I call her the WalMart greeter because she goes to greet every person that comes near her. She has bonded quickly with her foster family and I think will have no trouble bonding to her forever family.

She does well with most other dogs but she does have the terrier trait of wanting to chase anything that moves fast or gets excited. She responds well to gently correcting this behavior. She would be happiest in a home where she is the only dog but she has adapted to living with several other dogs in her foster home.

We do not know how fast the heart murmur will progress so it is hard to say if Missy has another 10 years or 10 months. It is a condition that will need to be monitored by a vet and adjust care as needed. Right now, as I said, you would never know by the way she acts that she any heart issues at all.

Missy is a princess looking for her castle ! If you are interested in adopting her please fill out an Adoption Application.
